The most admired and innovative family of schools
in the world

We're building a global education network of research, innovation and collaboration, and equipping our schools to inspire young minds across the world.

Welcome

Wellington College Education (WCE) is a network founded by Wellington College, whose purpose is to align and maximise the impact of all our global education activities, directly or through partnership, with the ultimate aim of the whole being significantly greater than the sum of our individual parts.

Encompassing ten co-educational schools around the world as well as Festivals of Education in the UK, US, China and Thailand, WCE will expand educational opportunities and foster cultural connectivity through leadership, innovation and international collaboration.

“I am delighted to rejoin the Wellington fold after a decade away. Wellington College Education, alongside our worldwide partners, aims to raise global educational standards and empower young minds by becoming the most admired and innovative family of schools in the world. Nothing is more important than education and having this opportunity to work with schools internationally is an enormous privilege.”

Our Founding School

Wellington College, Crowthorne, UK

Wellington College is a pioneering co-educational institution, which is driven by the need to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and character to fulfil their potential and help shape and serve the ever changing world in which they live.

Our Heritage

Wellington College (Crowthorne, England) was the vision of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Granted its Royal Charter in December 1853, with Queen Victoria laying the foundation stone in 1856, the school opened in 1859 as a national monument to Arthur Wellesley,
the first Duke of Wellington and one of the country’s most renowned military figures and statesmen.

Its purpose was to provide an education to the children of soldiers who died in service. Today, Wellington College is a globally acknowledged, leading British co-educational boarding and day school providing a world-class holistic education within an inclusive community.

Wellington College Education (China) also provides a partnership with Hiba Academies. Hiba are dedicated to connecting the educational excellence of the East and West to create a pupil-centric, bilingual, bicultural learning experience.

The Hiba ethos is to inspire children to be the best version of themselves, to take pride in where they come from and to be the change they wish to see in the world, expressed through the motto:

Our worldwide community

Wellington College’s Global Citizenship programme is embedded throughout College life, encouraging students to develop compassion, curiosity and a sense of responsibility towards the wider world. Throughout the academic year, students across all year groups engaged in a wide range of activities focused on sustainability, social justice, leadership, creativity and community engagement.

Third Form students explored key global issues through sessions on sustainability and social justice while participating in enrichment opportunities such as Art History, Chess, Rocketry, Golf, Fencing and Mountain Biking. They also worked towards their Arts Award Bronze qualification.

Fifth Form and Lower Sixth students expanded their involvement through enrichment projects including Green Power Racing, DukeBox, Escape Rooms and WTV, with many completing the Arts Award Silver qualification.

Community Action was a major focus, with students supporting local schools, care homes and charities through initiatives such as virtual reading sessions, drama outreach, sports coaching, foodbank support and Tag Rugby programmes. Partnerships included schools such as Kennel Lane School and care homes including Pinehurst and St Brendan’s.

The programme also included Connected Curriculum projects linked to STEM, refugee support and humanities outreach, alongside outdoor adventure activities such as Bush Craft, Climbing and Paddling, helping students develop resilience, teamwork and confidence.

Overall, the programme reflects Wellington College’s belief that education should extend beyond academic success, preparing students to lead lives of purpose, integrity and positive impact through service, collaboration and leadership.

Earlier this week, students had the opportunity to learn from visiting pianist Craig Greene, who delivered a series of piano masterclasses for our Piano Scholars throughout the day.

The sessions began with our Primary students preparing for Grade 5 ABRSM. Craig provided valuable guidance and performance insight, giving individual feedback in both paired and group settings. This experience allowed students to refine their musical skills while learning from an experienced musician in an inspiring environment.
