Sir Anthony Seldon

Sir Anthony Seldon has been appointed as the founding Director of Wellington College Education to lead the development of the WCE strategy and to turn the concept of ‘network positive’ into an operational reality.  Encompassing ten co-educational schools around the world as well as Festivals of Education in the UK, US, China and Thailand, WCE will expand educational opportunities and foster cultural connectivity through leadership, innovation and international collaboration.

James Dahl, the 15th Master of Wellington College and CEO of Wellington College Education commented on the appointment:

This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Wellington College Education. We live in an era where both the way we educate and educating bodies themselves are undergoing significant change, driven by geopolitics and revolutionary new technologies. Anthony’s leadership and vision will be invaluable as we equip pupils across the world to thrive in a landscape where a global perspective and an education rich in humanity will be essential.”

Sir Anthony, previously the 13th Master of Wellington College, a distinguished author and commentator on education and British political history, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He has a unique grasp of the broader context of global education and Wellington College Education specifically. He remarked:

“I am delighted to rejoin the Wellington fold after a decade away. Wellington College Education, alongside our worldwide partners, aims to raise global educational standards and empower young minds. This is a thrilling time to be part of such a transformative project and I relish the challenges ahead.”
