The Wellington College Jakarta opening proudly marks a historic milestone for our global educational community.
We recently inaugurated our beautiful new Early Years and Primary campus. This vibrant facility represents the 10th member of the Wellington College Education family. It establishes a powerful foundation for a future K-12 British curriculum school. Our community gathered with immense joy to celebrate this launch. The event highlighted the incredible global connectivity our network provides.
To mark this exciting journey, our International Director, Paul Vanni, traveled directly from the UK. He joined the wonderful festivities right here in Indonesia. The room radiated warmth and optimism throughout the day. This energy beautifully reflected our shared passion. We firmly believe this school will achieve great things for young people.
A showcase of Spirit and Inclusivity
The celebration spectacularly showcased our commitment to internationalism and inclusivity. Our Unity Choir delivered an unforgettable musical performance. Pupils and staff sang beautifully together in English, Bahasa Indonesia, and Mandarin. This wonderful performance perfectly captured the spirit defining our curated learning environment.
We further commemorated this milestone with a traditional ribbon-cutting. Participants also enjoyed meaningful tree-planting activities. Comprehensive campus tours allowed attendees to explore our outstanding new facilities. We specifically designed these spaces to nurture the next generation of learners.
Honored Guests and Future Ambitions
We were privileged to welcome our pupils, parents, and staff, alongside local dignitaries, representatives from the British Embassy, and a proud Old Wellingtonian. Attendees were deeply honored to hear inspiring words from Suryopratomo, Chair of the Foundation Board and former Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, as well as our CEO, Mr. Wee Han Tan.
Our ambition for WCI Jakarta is nothing less than to redefine the educational landscape in Indonesia, all while deeply respecting the rich traditions of this diverse country. A huge thank you to the dedicated staff who put so much time and effort into making this fantastic event a reality. WCI Jakarta has landed, and the future is ours to write!
