Sir Antony Seldon
Founding Director, Wellington College Education
Sir Anthony Seldon is one of Britain’s leading contemporary historians, educationalists, commentators and political authors. He is currently the Founding Director of Wellington College Education, having been Vice Chancellor of the University of Buckingham, a transformative headteacher for 20 years at Brighton College and Wellington College.
He is author and editor of 45+ books on contemporary history, including the last seven Prime Ministers. He has been Co-Founder and Director of the Institute of Contemporary British History; Co-Founder of Action for Happiness; honorary historical advisor to 10 Downing Street; UK’s Special Representative for Education to Saudi Arabia; Initiator and Deputy Chair of The Times Education Commission and Institute for Government’s Commission of the Centre; member of the Government’s First World War Culture Committee; Director and Governor at the Royal Shakespeare Company; Chair of the National Archives Trust; Patron of several charities; Founder of the Via Sacra Western Front Walk; and Executive Producer of the film Journey’s End. Over many years any writing profits have gone to charity.
Iain Sutcliffe has held a range of senior leadership roles across Wellington College in the UK and internationally. He served as Deputy Head Co‑Curricular at Wellington College, where he oversaw one of the sector’s most ambitious and transformational co‑curricular programmes, and spent two years on secondment as the founding Head of Senior School at Wellington College International Pune, leading the school’s rapid growth and its successful IB, COBIS and Cambridge accreditation processes. Prior to his career in education, he was a professional cricketer for Lancashire CCC and Leicestershire CCC scoring over 12,000 runs.
He now works as Deputy Head at Wellington College Education, supporting whole‑school strategy, leadership development and the implementation of education for human flourishing.
Andy Dax is an experienced school leader specialising in digital innovation and AI‑enhanced learning. Formerly an Assistant Headteacher for Digital Strategy, Andy now serves as the Director of Digital Learning for Wellington College Education (WCE). In this role, he leads the development of digital and AI learning across the two UK schools, Wellington College and Wellington College Prep, while also strengthening collaboration and capability across the international family of Wellington schools.
Drawing on extensive experience in curriculum design, staff development and whole‑school digital transformation, Andy focuses on helping teachers and students use technology in meaningful, responsible and creative ways. His work includes shaping AI literacy from ages 4 to 18, building staff confidence in emerging technologies and developing partnerships that enhance digital learning throughout the global Wellington community.
Chris Rothwell is an experienced leader in education and technology, with an extensive career at Microsoft where he led the UK Education industry team, responsible for Microsoft’s work in education.
Chris now holds a portfolio of executive and non-executive leadership roles in the intersection of education and technology, including the non-exec Chair of an education service provider, delivering consulting projects with EdTech and education customers globally, and working for Wellington College Education, where he leads the Digital and AI strategy.
Chris is responsible for understanding the opportunities and risks that AI creates in education, setting the direction for the safe and effective use of AI in schools, and implementing AI to improve education outcomes.
Michael Stevenson

Michael Stevenson leads worldwide innovation in education policy and programmes. Working with senior policy makers and organizational leaders, he has held international and national roles across government, industry and media.
Michael founded and continues to co-ordinate the OECD High Performing Systems for Tomorrow initiative, co-creating new education purposes, policies and practices in an AI world. Developed through international policy dialogues, the Education for human flourishing framework was published in November 2025. It is helping shape the future of PISA and influencing policy around the world.
Michael’s focus is now on implementing Education for human flourishing. He is Founding Director of the Institute of Human Flourishing at Wellington College in England. From January 2026 he will also be Senior Adviser, International Baccalaureate, where he will focus on thought leadership, policy advice and leadership development.
Michael has led education at both Cisco and the BBC. He has also been Director of Strategy, Communications and Technology for the UK Department of Education.
