Nantong is situated in Eastern China, close to the cities of Shanghai and Suzhou and known for being a global player in shipbuilding and marine engineering.
Hiba Academy Nantong is on an exceptionally large, well landscaped campus and is proud to be the largest in the China group. At capacity, this premier school in the region will be home to 700 boarders in a community of 2000 children from Nursery to sixth form.
Meet the Master
The school is led by Simon Kenworthy who is originally from the UK and taught there during his early career before moving to Kenya to be Director of Sport and Head of Maths at The Banda School.
From there he moved to the Middle East and was part of the Founding Team at Brighton College Abu Dhabi, before helping set up a second school, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, where he was Head of the Prep School.
He is married to Phoebe, an English and History teacher and they have 2 daughters.
Simon is passionate about sport and enjoys rugby, cricket, triathlon and, more recently, badminton. He also enjoys travelling and is lucky enough to have visited 101 countries. He is looking forward to seeing which country should be number 102!
