Wellington College International Pune

Wellington College International Pune is the first of several Wellington College International Schools planned for India.

Pune has often been referred to as the Oxford of the East and is emerging as a major educational and commercial hub in the Indian state of Maharashtra in Western India.

As the city grows in its international status for technology, innovation and manufacturing, so does its global community — a development reflected in the growth of Wellington College International Pune. The school continues to expand alongside the city’s dynamic, globally connected landscape.

Wellington College International Pune opened in September 2023 is a coeducational day and soon to be boarding school for 800 pupils between the ages of 2-18. The campus was designed by MICA, an award-winning and leading British architectural firm and is nestled on the banks of the Mula-Mula river in Karadi, 30 minutes from the centre of the old, historic part of the city. The School offers early years education and culminates in IB Diploma.

The city has emerged as a major global educational hub; home to the highest number of international students of any city in India. It is also a global hub for innovation, manufacturing, technology, and medical research.  Pune is regarded as one of the safest cities in India with good climatic conditions throughout the year.

“A Wellington education embraces true inspiration and aims to be inclusive, engaging with the local, national and international communities. That is an important element of this incredible journey – we are thrilled to now offer all the qualities of a Wellington education within the rich diversity of a truly Indian setting.”
