Students Peer Mentoring Programme with WCIB

Eighteen Upper Sixth students from Wellington College recently participated in an inspiring Peer Mentoring Programme with Wellington College International School Bangkok (WCIB) during the October and February half terms. Organised by our International Academic Director, David Wilson, this initiative exemplifies our commitment to building a supportive and interconnected global community.

Despite the challenges posed by time differences, the students have been meeting online with their peers in Bangkok every Thursday morning, UK time, which coincides with the end of the school day in Bangkok. This arrangement has enabled Wellington College students to step into the role of mentors, providing guidance and support to Year 9 pupils at WCIB.

The students volunteered their time to discuss crucial topics such as GCSE choices, peer relationships, effective revision strategies, and the cultural and educational similarities and differences between our schools and the UK. Through these interactions, they have not only shared valuable insights but also forged meaningful relationships, akin to the role of third form prefects in boarding houses.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Wellington College students for their dedication and the positive impact they are making. Their efforts exemplify our dedication to fostering international collaboration and educational excellence.
